The Horizon T20 treadmill, originally known as the Advance 200, remains one of the best value buys on a budget. It is rated well by many online retailers and catalogues because of its ability to work well with a novice fitness enthusiast or someone who is looking for a light, or casual workout. Its accommodating frame fits in just about any space, and folds easily for storage, using the FeatherLIGHT Lift System hydraulic shocks, and has handy transport wheels for moving. The Horizon T20 treadmill is also durable, easy to control, and has a great warranty-a lifetime for the frame, one year for parts, 90 days for labor, and 10 years for the motor. You can find the treadmill in various retailers for around $800.

The Horizon T20 comes from a series of treadmills, including the T25, T30, T40, T51, T52, T53, and T54 HR. All of these are quality products, with the capability to provide you with the choices of walking, running, or jogging with or without an incline, and keeps track of fat and calories burned, and your distance and speed covered throughout your workout.

If you are considering purchasing a Horizon T20 treadmill or any of the others in the series, contact Horizon Fitness for a full description catalogue, or surf the Internet for information and photos, or visit a retailer to test-drive one of the models and let the salespeople direct you to the one best suited with your desires. Before making your purchase, however, check out the competitors’ prices and go from there.

Horizon Fitness is one of several subsidiaries of Johnson Health Tech Company, Ltd., and is famous for its ergonomic products and high quality technology. Other subsidiaries include Proteus, Body Solid, Vision Fitness, International Fitness, Johnson Fitness, and Matrix. Each is made with individuals in mind, knowing that everyone has different fitness goals and lifestyles. The products reflect this, and are affordable investments designed to assist anyone in incorporating fitness into daily living.

Horizon Fitness treadmills include the CST Series (CST 3, CST 4, CST 5 HR) and Horizon Series (T20, T25, T30, T40, T51, T52, T53, and T54 HR). Prices range from $600-$900.
Elite Ellipticals include the Elite Series 2.1E, 3.1E, and 4.1E. Prices range from $900-$1,600.

Before choosing between Horizon Fitness’s treadmills, bikes, or ellipticals, first talk with your doctor about which form of exercise will work best for you. After that, research the product that fits closely with your needs, and find the stores with the best prices. Once you are able to test-drive your pick in a store or gym, you can then make your final decision.

Horizon Elite treadmills include the 1.1T, 2.1T, 3.1T, 4.1T, and 5.1T models. Each one is equipped with the safety feature FeatherLIGHT Lift System-dual hydraulic shocks that allow for the treadmills to fold easily for storage, as well as a Comfort Zone running deck, and a variable cushion and Zero Friction Lubrication System. Depending on your needs, one of the 5 models is sure to be right for you. If you are looking for a basic model, then the 1.1T is for you. The others increase successively in their features, with the top-of-the-line model being the 5.1T. Keep in mind, however, that each of the Horizon Elite treadmills are just as effective as the next, and they can all provide you with a high level of comfort and exercise. Their reasonable warranties confidently reveal the true quality and strength of which they are made. With a lifetime for the frame, 25 years for the motor, 2 years on parts, and 1 year on labor, you will get the most for your money, living up to Horizon’s motto-"Designed for life."

Horizon Elite treadmills range in price from $800-$2,000, but that all depends on where you shop. Horizon Fitness’s website provides detailed information on all the treadmill models, as well as the option to request a catalogue to purchase directly from them, or to receive customer service. Several online retailers, eBay, fitness stores, and fitness resale shops will also carry the treadmills at lower costs. When you finally do choose the right model for you, you will not be disappointed with what you get!

Understanding Fitness Reviews and Ratings

If you are looking to find the best fitness equipment, consumer reviews and ratings are helpful to read. Online retailers offer product descriptions with their listings, usually arranging them by ratings for viewing-least to most expensive (or vice versa), alphabetical, most popular, featured, or on sale. Other times, ratings are determined by the number of stars, thumbs up, or smiley faces, based on a scale of 1 to 4 or 5, where a 4 or 5 means a product is highly recommended. When a product is popular, it tends to be reviewed at least once, explaining the reasoning behind why someone rated a product a particular score. In finding the most information you can about fitness products you are seeking to purchase, including Horizon treadmills, ratings are a good way to obtain honest opinions.

Since Horizon Fitness is a reputable brand known for quality products, Horizon treadmills ratings are generally higher than most, receiving praise for their affordable prices and craftsmanship. Other competitors with equal ratings are ProForm, Landice, Smooth, and Image.

An occasional lower rating by one dissatisfied consumer is not uncommon. Ratings, after all, are an average of individual opinions-the more reviews or ratings submitted, the more accurate an overall rating will be. Read all reviews from various sources, if possible, to get the most possible information. You might want to even talk with sales staff at local fitness shops to find out their opinions, or hear their observations on consumer trends and tastes. It certainly pays to be particular, especially when it comes to spending money on an investment for your health. After all, you DO want the best for your body, but only if it ensures your own peace of mind.

As a muscle, the heart must get a workout, so that it stays fit and functions properly, just like the rest of your body. Without that, you stand a greater risk of developing heart disease. In order to obtain maintain a healthy heart, treadmill or other aerobic exercise on a regular basis is recommended. To reap the most health benefits, exercise for a total of a half hour to an hour daily. You could split it up 10 minute increments of exercise 3-6 times throughout the day, or do half in the morning and the other after dinner, or even a half hour at one set time in the day, however you prefer. Swimming, bike riding, and sports are fun for people of all ages-you are never too young to take good care of your heart. Treadmill walking, running, or jogging is another great way teens and adults can still get exercise, even in inclement weather. Unlike aerobics or exercise classes, you do not need to have an instructor, personal trainer, or be around a group of other people when using a treadmill. You can workout from the comfort of your own home, any time, and at your own pace. You do not need to spend any money on additional equipment, and there are models available that fold up easily for storage purposes.

Consult with your doctor before starting a fitness routine. When you do start exercising, start out slowly, gradually increasing the amount of exercise each time, or else you will push yourself too hard too fast and suffer from unnecessary pains. Overall, it is your body’s rate of activity that is important-do not be too concerned with your body weight, as that will take care of itself in time if you are diligent about staying fit.

ProForm, NordicTrack, Image, HealthRider, Reebok, Weslo, Freemotion Fitness, and Epic treadmills are just some of the products made by the company Icon, the world-leading equipment producer. Not only has Icon achieved a solid reputation for producing top-quality products, the company is known for its extensive research and development processes used in creating them. Of all the brands listed, only Epic treadmills are less popular, only spotlighted because of Icon’s push for selling them at certain retailers-most notably Costco.

Brands like ProForm, NordicTrack, and Image are all associated with some of the highest forms of fitness equipment available, on which even athletes rely. And, with prices within reasonable ranges so that they are affordable, most homes and gyms are equipped with Icon’s array of fitness products.

ProForm is the leader in treadmills, known most often for its capability to fold and store with ease. NordicTrack began with ski simulation products, and eventually turned to low impact workout equipment with proven success. Image combines simplicity and effectiveness with affordable treadmills and squat-rack bench. HealthRider has unique technology, including BioLogic Pulse Training, iFit.com compatibility, and Softtrack Cushioning. Reebok is known for fitness accessories, most notably its shoe wear, but they have expanded into fitness equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and yoga accessories. Weslo is a popular brand for everyday fitness-touting equipment for just about anyone, with low prices.

Freemotion Fitness provides Epic equipment, as well as NordickTrack and Reebok and its own Freemotion brand. Freemotion products are superior quality and they pride themselves in their customer care. With Epic, you get functional fitness equipment, with strength and versatility, ranging from strength to cardio. While there are two models of Epic treadmills, only the 9600 is available on Freemotion’s website, and is more popular than the T60 from Costco.

The Epic T60 treadmill is considered a best buy in the $500-$1,000 range according to Treadmill Doctor, an industry-leading company featuring advice and products on treadmills. Available at Costco, its low price is sure to draw your attention. However, as mentioned from various sources and authorities on the subject (including Treadmill Doctor), it is most important to check the warranties, as the shorter ones will indicate less expensive parts: hence, frequent maintenance! So-saying, the Epic T60 treadmill has a one-year warranty on its parts. However, if you plan to use it less aggressively than most individuals, and are planning to frequently change fitness routines and machines, then perhaps this particular treadmill has the potential to work with your needs.

In order to keep your treadmill in top condition, DO: keep it clean and dry, use only indoors, and check it regularly for worn parts or areas before using, to avoid injury. This includes the belt, power cord, handle bars, and frame. Further safety measures for you to follow include wearing appropriate clothing and shoes at all times while exercising, only exercise in an area where you have plenty of room to move around, and do not let children or pets play near or on it at any time.

The Epic T60 treadmill is sold at Costco, but it can also be found on various online fitness shops, eBay, and your local fitness resale shops, such as Play It Again Sports. Other similar treadmill brands worth checking out include Reebok, Weslo, Smooth, and ProForm.

Electronic treadmills are more popular than their manual counterparts for several reasons-they are generally quieter, less bulky/heavy, offer more choices, and are easier to use. Display panels are easy to read and operate, providing you with several modes from which to choose, as well as recording accurate results of your progress in the areas of your heart rate, distance, speed, and the number of calories or fat burned. Electronic treadmills are usually more expensive, but well worth the money, and are more widely available than manual ones.

The concept of the treadmill itself is nothing new-it has been widely used in agricultural work in place of additional hands. In its most primitive form, the treadmill actually was powered by animals, such as goats, sheep, or horses, in doing manual work, such as butter churning or threshing as early as the 1870’s. But in 1952, a treadmill designed for human exercise was created. From then on, the pursuit of fitness technology increased, until finally electric treadmills were created, after aerobic exercise became more popular. The ones we see today have additional features built in, even music for you to listen to while exercising.

Some of the top affordable treadmills are the ProForm 930 I, Vision Fitness 9200, Sole F80, Smooth 5.15, Smooth HR 7.1, Diamondback 600T, Image 10.4QL, Keys Encore EC 6500, and the HealthTrainer 801. It is recommended though, that you research before buying, and test-drive the ones you like, to get a feel for what suits you best. Most importantly, find a model that is maintenance-free, to avoid costly repairs.

A cardiac treadmill test is a way cardiologists are able to observe a patient’s heart functions while under stress, in order to detect the onset or presence of coronary artery disease, or to determine overall physical health. The test is done by having the patient exercise on a treadmill while being monitored continuously for the heart’s rate, electrical activity, blood pressure, and rhythm during activity and at rest. During this time, the patient reaches his or her target heart rate, which is determined by age and heart rate while at rest. The cardiac treadmill test itself takes no longer than 12 minutes to provide accurate results, but the procedure from preparation to end can take up to an hour. In some instances, an exercise bike can be used. For patients who are unable to perform rigorous activity due to arthritis, dizziness, or various disorders, a chemical treadmill test can be done in lieu of actual exertion, via intravenous medication and heart imaging.

Before having a cardiac treadmill test, there are some guidelines you must follow in preparation from home itself. If you are on any heart medications, your doctor might have you refrain from taking them, and you will need to fast a few hours prior to the test. You will also fill out a consent form, and be given information on the procedure. Also make sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes designed for exercise.

Initial results from the test can be presented immediately following, however the complete findings will only be available in 2-3 days. At that time, you might be required to visit with your doctor to discuss further treatment.

Bowflex treadmills come in six types-the 3,5, and 7 Series, and the Treadclimber TC1000, 3000, and 5000, offering premier performance and results for your money. Owned by the company Nautilusr that also makes the Nautilusr brand exercise equipment, as well as StairMasterr, Trimliner, and Schwinn Fitnessr products, they are dedicated to leading the fitness industry by providing equipment that will satisfy every fitness enthusiast.

The Series 3 is considered one of the most popular treadmills, certainly also one of the most popular Bowflex treadmills available. It is a folding treadmill with six programs and walk, jog, or run modes, with superior warranties for its components. Normal guidelines suggest choosing a model with at least a one-year motor warranty, but Bowflex offers a ten-year motor warranty. Additionally, there is a fifteen-year frame warranty, two-year parts and electrical warranty, and a one-year labour warranty.

The best way to know if a particular model is right for you is by test-driving it in a store that sells the one in which you are interested, even if you choose not to purchase it from there. Make sure to ask the salespeople questions, and do not be afraid to check all aspects of the treadmill-including its ease of folding, moving, or adjusting as necessary. Bowflex treadmills run from $1,500 to $2,500, sold through their website as well as in several other fitness stores and website companies, including resale shops and eBay. Shop around, research, and compare models before committing to a purchase, to get the best deals. When you do make your purchase, remember that a treadmill is much like a car-in order for it to work optimally you have to take good care of it. Doing so will provide you many hours of fitness success, no matter the brand or model.

Reviews and ratings of treadmills can be deceiving. Categories of rating treadmills follow under various included features such as speed, noise, construction and console programming.
As a consumer, be aware of your budget as most of the best rated treadmills will focus on high end models that are marketed for home use. These prices can be as high as $5,000. This range of treadmills can most likely withstand daily exercise from a languid, slow walker as well as a rigorous runner, whereas the lower end priced (and rated) treadmills may not be able to handle the wear and tear as well.

The best rated treadmills in stores have a variety of features, including elevation, programmable workouts, pulse sensors, and some may even feature complete computer consoles. Ratings on treadmills often may include a note on the running deck–whether it is has a smooth, cushioning feel, or a tough, hard surface impact on a user’s feet.

Comfort in a heavy workout is something to watch when rating treadmills. But more importantly, read the reviews and ratings of treadmills you like, then try out that treadmill at the store and see if it gives you the stable, comfortable walk or run that fits your needs.

But while cheaper, lower end models have some of the same features as the higher end rated treadmills, it is important to note the durability of the treadmill. Higher end treadmills may have warranties that last from ten years to lifetime warranties when the lower rated treadmills do not. In other words, durability is of utmost importance when reviewing ratings on treadmills, especially when even the lower end treadmills aren’t dirt cheap.

Reading Treadmill Reviews

Home treadmill reviews from consumers are widely available for several types of treadmills on the market via the Internet, ranging from the best, to worst, to most expensive, least expensive, and more. When you visit an online retailer, you will have the option to browse by product type, brand, most popular, alphabetically, by price, or by review rating. Ratings are typically on a scale of one to five stars, with five being the highest. Products that do not have stars by them may not necessarily indicate that they are of bad quality; it may simply mean no one has reviewed them as yet. While reviews are only singular opinions, they are also helpful in steering people who are unfamiliar with certain items in the appropriate direction. Generally speaking, good reviews will have all the basic information that indicates the basis for a rating, and will provide you with buying knowledge. When viewing home treadmill reviews, look for pro and cons on particular models, and the reasons behind each, as well as the product’s features, price, and availability. But do not stop there-it is best to read more than one review on the same product, to get a wide-based feel for it. Visit other retailers, if you have to. Even talk with a salesperson while inside a store, and hear what they have to say, and test-drive treadmills for yourself.

Once you have had experiences with treadmills, you will become your own authority. Use that power wisely by writing your own, description and honest home treadmill reviews. Most vendors will be glad to obtain feedback, whether you purchased through them or not.

As the world’s top selling treadmills among hospitals, physicians, practitioners and other medical professionals, Quinton Treadmills are the most reliable and highest of quality treadmill on the market available to the medical industry. Quinton Treadmills are unmatched in their latest technology and have been at the forefront as diagnostic cardiology systems.

Quinton Treadmills, models TM55 and TM65, deliver the most accurate and exceptional exercise stress training than any other treadmill due to the Quinton model Treadmills’ many unique and specialized features. Characterized by a high torque system, which is required for accurate treadmill speed and grade, regardless of patient weight, Quinton Treadmills feature a Hyperdrive System that digitally controls operation. That same AC-drive system allows greater performance, and improved accuracy and reliability of Quinton Treadmills.

Quinton Treadmills also feature fewer moving parts than any other treadmill, which reduces wear on the equipment. A controlled "soft start" cardiac stress system, called the Q-stress, starts the treadmill quietly, slowly increasing speed in smooth, 0.1 miles per hour increments to a comfortable speed for the patient. This feature also is integrated with a prompt deceleration option as well as an emergency stop button that terminates movement. And unlike other treadmills, the Quinton treadmills never require calibration.

Quinton Treadmills do not feature any motor brushes or speed change mechanisms, which limits wear and tear on the treadmill. The decks of Quinton Treadmills are treated with a specialized friction-controlled polymer and never have to be lubricated or waxed. Handrails are available as an optional feature.
